We all have an urban legend in every town, city, and state; this one is just another one of those legends. Below is a copy of the tale.
“There is a tree in the middle of the road in Wilder where 3 witches were supposedly hung, and there is a curse on the tree to whom ever tries to cut it down, or spits on it. I have been to this place many times, and taken pictures, and many times, even though it was a clear night, the pictures have come back covered in white blotches. You will find many out of the ordinary happenings on the way out to the tree. September 2004 update /correction: It has recently been cut down and moved to the church parking lot at the top of the road. The three humps were also left off the story. There are three evenly spaced humps right before you come up on the tree site. These are the so called graves of the witches.”
After Hearing about this Urban Legend, T.S.P. drove out to the location and yes, we did hit three very large humps in the road. Now if these three witches were 12 feet tall and weight about 800 lbs than okay the humps would match the size of the witch’s graves.
Once we arrived at the location of the old tree we did noticed the patch of grass in the middle of the road where it once stand. Nothing scary about this piece of grass. The only thing that caught us off guard was a resident that drove up to us and began to tell us the real story of the so-called cursed tree. Listen to the clip below.
Final decision on this case... DISPROVED!
